Just a couple of notices for members:



1. SUGGEST OMONA FOR THE LJ COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT.

Community spotlight is a great way for all LJ users to be exposed to the happenings on Livejournal. Since OMNTD is relatively new, we would love for our community to be selected for an upcoming LJ spotlight. To make this happen, we need as many members as possible to suggest us as a contender.

You can do this by clicking on ‘home’, and scrolling down until you come to the ‘In Spotlight This Week’ section. At the bottom of this section, you will see the sentence: ‘Your favorite community here. Suggest a Spotlight’. Part of this sentence is a clickable link, which takes you to an area where you can fill out some details about OMNTD.

The screencap at the top of this post shows you what the community spotlight looks like, for this week.

2. PLEASE HELP ALL MEMBERS OUT BY SUBMITTING POSTS.



K-entertainment moves very fast, and as such, it takes a great deal of time and effort for posters to make sure news is posted at OMNTD.

Currently, there is a select group of members who regularly post news to OMNTD. We appreciate our regular contributors very much, but would like all members to consider that:

a. Making multiple posts (especially image heavy posts) takes a considerable amount of energy. Regular posters bear a heavy load, and if you can take the time to submit news, that is one less post our regulars has to make. If our regular posters become burnt out from making so many submissions, there is the possibility that OMNTD will lack its ‘up to date’ edge, and become rather inactive.

b. Regular members cannot post all the news by themselves, thus OMNTD still lacks many entertainment news posts that pop up on other K-entertainment sites. We encourage members to help submit these missed or ignored pieces of information. Omona wants to make sure it covers all sides of the spectrum, and not just Big Bang or Shinee. Don’t be discouraged if the posts do not receive the same number of comments as posts about more popular artists.

c. Omona is as epik as users make it. Remember, we are a user-based community, as members are the ones that provide the posts and therefore decide how active the community is to be. Don’t be shy about making a post, if it is rejected (and we always give a reason why it is rejected) don’t be discouraged, we're not mad at you!!

3. MODERATORS & THEIR USERNAMES.

In case you need to contact us or are confused by the different moderator usernames, two of our mods have changed their LJ usernames:

koreansongs (old alter-ego) is now joonpyo, while

soy_zombies is now changmim (this occurred quite awhile ago, but we thought we’d better explain it as well).

Well, there's an upside and downside to community spotlight.

The upside is: Some of the 11, 000 dbsg members will notice us, join the comm and pass us on to other K-pop fans. Also, there are a lot of LJ users unaware a K-news comm exists.

The downside is what you listed, but, you need to remember we do have a banhammer available for anyone causing problems for Omona! Plus, I don't think there are that many people who would go to the effort to join a LJ comm, purely to annoy people.

Ahaha, I feel like a bit of a leech for my total lack of anything useful to contribute to the comm, news-wise or otherwise, but I actually only joined a couple days ago 'cause I got fed up with my lack of k-ent knowledge and thought this seemed like a great place to hang out and fix that. Man everyone at Omona's so ~friendly~, I love it here. |D

So I hope to one day be able to contribute something productive to OMNTD, and in the meantime I'm in your hands, please be gentle! or something. :)

Don't feel embarrassed. Also, know that the mods feel really bad everytime they have to reject a post!

I'm always sad when I have to reject because something needs to be fixed up, and then the person doesn't resubmit. I always think they get scared off- I hope not!

LOL many times. and with varied reasons that now it makes me feel more embarrassed remembering it. specially reasons like 'it was already posted before' or 'it's not concidered as news' etc etc. X3

but no worries bb, i always try to resubmit my posts if the reasons are something like my html fails or that my post doesn't follow rules.

and don't be sad, u guise are just doing ur job, which is awesome! :D
