Park Kyung To Be Forwarded To Prosecution For Defamation for Sajaegi Accusation

Block B’s Park Kyung will be forwarded to the prosecution following his accusations of other artists committing chart manipulation.

On June 17, the Seoul Seongdong Police Station announced that they would be forwarding Park Kyung’s case to the prosecution with a recommendation of indictment without detention for defamation for spreading false information according to the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. A police representative stated, “We concluded that Park Kyung had spread false information. We will forward the case to the prosecution this week, if early, or sometime next week at the latest.”

In late November, Park Kyung restarted the conversation about suspicions of widespread sajaegi (the manipulation of sales numbers through an artist’s own agency bulk buying or streaming). He wrote in a now-deleted tweet, “I want to do sajaegi like Vibe, like Song Ha Ye, like Lim Jae Hyun, like Jeon Sang Keun, like Jang Deok Cheol, and like Hwang In Wook ^^;;.”

Currently, all the artists mentioned are taking legal action against him. Park Kyung also postponed his enlistment due to the investigation.

According to reports, Park Kyung has been actively participating in the police investigation, and he voluntarily attended his first police questioning in March.

Sure, this seems like a priority for prosecution, defamation is more serious than corruption, prize-fixing, trafficking, assault, bribery, or shitty-maleness.

Right? I read this and was like 'wow, this is what they hit you hard for, but not the multitude of other serious crimes they let walk without penalty?'

hmm, this is really interesting, because there was a whole thing about how he only posted because he thought he had conclusive evidence to back him up & had done research. that was literally why he used their names; he figured he'd come out on top, and that's why he was happy to participate in the police investigations. the fact the police are saying he spread false information is not what i thought was gonna happen. i wonder what happened in his research to mess him up like this. he had so much public support too.

but wow, punishing this....over anything else.....
