For the past few days (weeks? years?) Blinks have been requesting news about Black Pink. In true YG fashion, these requests were met by cricket song (stream Moon Hyuna on itune/youtube/...). Thus they started a petition and a black out (#BLINKSBLACKOUT). The petition Treat BLACKPINK better, was signed by 33 312 fans and counting.
Now, day two of the petition, Jennie posted the following image on her insta story
#coincidence? Or #Perfecttiming?

That was back in the "YG Family" days. Most of the artists early on were people he was close to or had worked with for a long time (and there are still people like Teddy, Kush, and Jinusean that are still one YGE payroll these days).

After Big Bang and 2NE1, his attention shifted. Acts like Big Mama, Lexy, and Gummy were gone and the only new female acts were idols-to-be or Lee Hi and Suhyun who were both teenagers when they signed. There isn't an active female artist signed to YGE over the age of 23 (except Dara and CL, and it's not like they're actively promoted or releasing new music).

agreed, Dara is active though, but to me it looks like she makes her schedule herself lmao, she's always so good at promoting herself and she's so loyal to her fans! she probably has like a few good people on her side within YG to help her out and let her do her stuff in the Philippines and stuff because dear lord YG himself has forgotten all about them

i'm from europe, but i love dara too! she always seems so sweet, humble and hard working - she also seems like the type to get close with fans, like she actually wants to get to know in stead the 'we' vs 'them' mentality some idols have these days (though i don't consider dara an idol anymore, more like a celebrity)

I remember when they were talking on Mixnine and they were listing their acts like accomplishments to rub in the other's face. It was something like

JYP: Rain and Se7en came out around the same time
YG: Ah, yes. You won that one. But then it was Big Bang and 2PM...
JYP: True, and the Miss A and 2NE1.
YG: Then Winner and Got7...

and I think the convo ended with YG conceding that Twice was the biggest girl group these days or smtn. I wouldn't be surprised if this was some kind of response to JYPE about to debut the group Ryujin is a part of. Particularly because he joked about wanting to take her from JYPE to his company, then basically did that with Somi and the Black Label.

I hope this petition works because its about time someone calls out yg on their bullshit. Although i wish the petition were about female artists in general at yg. Maybe even a boycott would help since blackpink keeps topping the charts and selling but if it affects yg’s cash flow then he might reconsider

Who annoys me more than anyone is fans of any YG group. There's no end to the complaining, but each and every cb, they keep scrambling to line his coffers.

I wish that the petition would gain momentum. But fans can boycott sales all they want, its not YG who suffers at the end of the day. Fans stop buying bp's stuff, he'll just trade them in for another group. He's made it abundantly clear that his female artists are disposable and I wish it wasn't that way.
