We seem to be hearing this so often lately, and yet another group has been drawn into ’sexually suggestive’ controversies. Dal Shabet recently revealed that they had overhauled their sexy disco outfits to avoid further issues.

On August 9th, Happy Face Entertainment said, “Public broadcast networks have been casting a lot of attention on singers and their outfits as well as their performance styles. In the end, we’ve decided to comply by changing all of their outfits.”

Thus, the outfits that they had already produced won’t be used at all. Instead, the girls will be wearing turtleneck shirts that limit the amount of skin exposure. The company also switched out the shorts for several different pairs of long pants instead.

Representatives continued, “We made the decision to change it because so many staff members had worked so hard on this album and didn’t want anything to stand in its way. We will work that much harder on stage so as to not disappoint the fans.”

Dal Shabet will be releasing their third mini-album, “Bling Bling“, on August 11th.

Women still stereotyped in TV commercials: report

While society moves toward the diversification of gender roles, TV commercials’ portrayals of women are still bound by stereotypes, the National Human Rights Commission said Monday.

In its report on 2,046 TV commercials aired in 2010, it found that men were flexibly depicted, moving away from fixed perceptions of them in patriarchal roles. Women, however, were superficially and prejudicially portrayed based on stereotypes.

Researchers of the agency marked 1 point if an advertisement showed stereotypical content such as men showing macho or chauvinistic characteristics and women displaying sweet-tempered, modest sides. Minus 1 point was given for clips that did the opposite. If an advertisement was set at a work site, factory or other “masculine” place, it was given +1 for men or -1 for women. If it depicted a home or family, it gained a +1 for women and -1 for men.

T-ara’s Eunjung recently revealed selca pictures that she took with her best friend, KARA’s Gyuri.

On August 9th, Eunjung uploaded the photos through her Twitter, tweeting, “Was it the day before yesterday..? This was the day Gyuri and I disobeyed the girl group way by making and eating ramen noodles in the middle of the night. After spending a heart-fluttering night (!) morning shot ♥”

In one picture, Eunjung and Gyuri both have orange blush drawn onto their cheeks, drawing out the cute charms of girl groups.

Underneath the picture, the phrase “Happy Loves” caught the attention of netizens. In the other picture, the two girls are confidently showing off their no make-up face and making a friendly pose for the camera. After uploading the picture, Eunjung tweeted, “Oh my.. is this too much of a no make-up face?” expressing her worry about revealing her bare face. Fans commented, “You both are the supreme princesses of no make-up face sel-cas”, “Too much of a no make-up face is pretty”, and “Different from me, your faces don’t bloat after eating ramen. I envy you.”

According to Mnet, the Koichi Domoto will be performing on August 11. Domoto is a member of KinKi Kids, which is a Japanese duo under the management of Johnny & Associates.
