Big Bang to run donation drive for Haiti earthquake victims during concert

Idol group Big Bang will extending their help to the earthquake victims in Haiti through their upcoming independent concert.

Coming 29th January at 8pm, 30th at 6pm, and 31st and 5pm, the group will be holding their ‘2010 BIGBANG CONCERT-BIG SHOW’ concert. And to help those in need in Haiti, the group will also be donating from their concert.

A YG Entertainment staff said on 29th January, “Big Bang will be doing a donation drive at their concert venue for their concert performances this time. The Big Bang members will also be donating into this donation funds.”

It was also added that, “We are expecting that the Big Bang fans will be participating actively in this donation drive. And the funds collected will be donated to help those in Haiti under the name of Big Bang and their fans.”

T-ara to end album promotions early

Girl group T-ara will be officially ending their promotional activities for their first album.



The 6 members have been promoting their ‘Absolute First Album‘ since the end of November as they made fans go crazy with the addictive hit track Bo Peep Bo Peep.

Although they recently started promotions for another fan favorite track, Like The First Time, the girls will end their promotional activities due to Soyeon’s absence.

Soyeon had been diagnosed with the H1N1 virus and is currently recovering. But because of this, performances for last night’s Music Bank and the upcoming Music Core and Inkigayo have been canceled.

A representative of the group said, “We’ve decided that T-ara will be closing their promotional activities for their first album,” adding, “Although we’re ending promotions a bit early, we’re very thankful for the love that the album and tracks Bo Peep Bo Peep and Like The First Time has received. To show our thanks, a few of our members will be participating in a special program very soon.“

Current status to singer YounHa, who is currently having her promotional activities on hold due to laryngitis, has been revealed.

An official said via phone interview with NewSen on 29th January, “Firstly she has feeling much better. She is feeling better, and can speak properly now.”

But it was known that while YounHa is feeling much better now, she will not be returning to broadcast activities as soon. The official said, “It will be hard for her to resume broadcast activities as soon. She is not in a condition where she can sing. For her to use her voice again, she needs to rest for a while more. Even though she is alright now, we want to watch her conditions for a while more.”
 
Meanwhile, YounHa is promoting the song ‘We Broke Up Today’ off her 3rd album ‘Growing Season.

Cutie singer IU recently remixed her Marshmallow song and transformed it into a special Valentine’s Day acoustic song titled, Love To You!

IU recorded a short message to the fans as she spread the love. It was also revealed that the adorable giant bobbing marshmallow in the music video and live performances is actually her manager!

Popular boy band Super Junior just can’t seem to avoid undergoing controversy as another one of their members, Shindong, has faced criticism for a comment he made during the broadcasting of MBC radio station Shim Shim Tapa.

On the 29th, a female listener revealed to the radio station that she recently fought with her boyfriend because of her decision to go on a diet. When she shared with him her diet plans for the new year, he told her, “Don’t start if you’re only going to quit after a few days. Your body isn’t the type to change with a diet.”

Kim Shin Young, who co-hosts the radio station, stated, “To a girl, a negative comment about her weight is equivalent to asking for a punch.”

The American-based WONDERGIRLS have secretly returned to South Korea. The short homecoming is facilitate China promotions during early February. But because of the related problem of SunMi's departure, whether the fans can meet with WONDERGIRLS has become a focus of attention.

WONDERGIRLS's return is receiving media interest because this China activity is the beginning of newest member HaeLim taking over from SunMi. To this end, group leader SunYe was the first to return home this January 25, in order to meet with HaeLim. 3 other members YeEun, Yoobin & Sohee followed her back on January 27. Excluded from the China activity is SunMi, who remained behind in New York for the purpose of WONDERGIRLS's [additional] American activities through end-February.

Originally, JYP Entertainment allowed SunMi to remain an active member of WONDERGIRLS for February, before letting HaeLim take over in March. With regards to the speedier personnel change, JYP explained, "Because this China visit is for expeditiously shooting a CF, the CF will be broadcast [only] after SunMi has stopped her activities. As far as WONDERFULS's overseas pacts, such activities were signed for as a 5-member combination. Hence, the earlier switch to HaeLim."

They disclosed that SunYe returning 2 days earlier than the other group members was also to meet with HaeLim. Purportedly after meeting her, SunYe painstakingly instructed HaeLim on the complete WONDERGIRLS activities.

Whether WONDERGIRLS & their fans can meet during their domestic stay is also a focus of attention. The "Keep SunMi" activists among the fan clubs proposed to JYP to "let us see the WONDERGIRLS." Their stated wish is to hear the truth of SunMi's withdrawal from the team members' mouths instead of via a formal company announcement.

In reply, a high-level JYP cohort plainly stated, "The issue of meeting the fans will be entirely settled by staff members."

The WONDERGIRLS fan clubs have jointly submitted to JYP a public chargesheet concerning the mutual arrangements of SunMi's withdrawal & HaeLim's inclusion. They also hope a heart-to-heart meeting can be convened. In reply, JYP communicated in written form to the fan clubs on January 28 the reasons for SunMi's withdrawal & why WONDERGIRLS should validly remain a 5-member group.

BEAST gets new members?

On the recent recording of the variety show HaDdangSah to be aired on Jan 31st, BEAST's Yoon DooJoon and dance machine Jang Hyunseung appeared on the show with Namolah Kim Kyungwook, Kim Taehwan, Son Hyunsoo, and Kim Kyungjin to form an unconventional barbaric group 'BUST'.

BUST performed close to perfection, from BEAST's makeup and stage outfits to BEAST's MYSTERY's neck rolling act, which was highly praised by the audience.

When asked "which member you wouldn't want this person to be in BEAST", they chose Kim Kyungjin. Upon hearing this, Kim Kyungjin's quickly responded 'I prefer 2PM', which produced a lot of laughter.

Yoon Doojoon and Jang Hyunseung also participated "I'm a gag man" portion of the show, where they were separated to represent the opposing team. Although he's been known for his impersonations, punishment wasn't spared for the idol Yun Doojoon.

How Kim Yun-jin's Korean Success Helped Her Make It in Hollywood

Kim Yun-jin spends nine months of the year in Hawaii shooting the popular U.S. drama series "Lost" and the remainder resting and working in Korea. She is the first Korean actress to have successfully launched a career in the U.S., though many others have tried. The fact that she moved to the U.S. as a child probably helped as there was no language barrier to overcome, but that alone would not have been enough.

"I strategically pretended to be terribly busy when I first tried to get acting jobs in the U.S.," she says. "I didn't want to seem desperate to be cast. I intentionally made appointments in Korea and told my U.S. agent that I'm busy and only available on certain dates. I wanted them to think of me as someone who is not readily available so they couldn't cancel meetings. That worked, and I was able to meet high-ranking influential people much quicker." Producers in the U.S. took note of what Kim did in Korea, and word of her reputation and popularity in Korea got to the U.S. That was crucial in getting her cast in "Lost," and is one reason why she visits Korea often despite her busy schedule and filmed Korean movies like "Seven Days" and "Harmony."

Broadcast accident on SNSD’s comeback stage. MBC u fail

So Nyeo Shi Dae encounters with a broadcast accident during their comeback stage.

The group had their first comeback stage on MBC Music Core on 30th January, they performed 2 songs – ‘Oh!’ and ‘Show!Show!Show!’ on the show that day.

For their ‘Show!Show!Show!’ stage, the girls did a performance similar to a musical and showed off their sexy charms. And they moved with the bubbly cheerleader concept for their ‘Oh!’ performance.

But near the end to their ‘Oh!’ performance, the screen went blank for about 5 seconds.

TV viewers commented, “So Nyeo Shi Dae was on and then suddenly the screen went blank, and I had a shock. Even the TV is in shock with the girls’ comeback”, “They even get a broadcast accident… prelude to a big hit?”etc.

MBC Music Core production team spoke up about the broadcast accident, “There was a technical problem during the show lying in the transmission. We are currently investigating the problem.”

Brown Eyed Girls GaIn gives fans and netizens a good laugh with her unique request to 2AM Im SeulOng.

GaIn recently wrote on Im SeulOng’s minihompy, “Don’t wear fitting tees. Please I beg you.”

The reason behind GaIn’s request is SeulOng’s chests which are said to have some ‘volume’. Recently for 2AM’s new song ‘Even If I Die, I will not let you go’ MV, there was a scene where SeulOng had to sing in the rain, exposing his chest through his wet shirt.

And on the blog ‘AdamAdam’ made by the made-believe couple on MBC We Got Married aired on 20th January, they also mentioned about SeulOng’s chest.

JYP "I approve of Jokwon & Ga-in!"

JYP has officially approved Jokwon and Ga-in during this week's episode of "We Got Married."

During January 30th's episode of "We Got Married," Ga-in visited 2AM, who was the opening for JYP's concert.

Ga-in, who was a fan of JYP during her school days, gifted him with rice cakes and dried seaweed. She also sang one of his songs.

When 2AM members suddenly intruded, they teased, "Jokwon said when we go to the US, he's gonna find himself a girlfriend." JYP, seeing Jokwon shocked and embarrased, stated, "If you will date Ga-in, I'll approve of it." and surprised everyone around.

JYP added, "She's kind, pretty, and even talented. You two should just get married! However, you will have to come and sing once a week."

Ga-in then tried to make Jokwon jealous by saying, "I want to marry you, so I can see my father-in-law (JYP) everyday."

SHINee's Taemin's face got red while talking about sex.

While Onew and Taemin guest starred on the January 31st episode of SBS's "Shin Dong Yeop's 300", when the question "I've talked about sex with my parents" came up Taemin commented, "Wouldn't that be really embarrassing? It seems awkward." Onew said "If you started talking with them since you were young, it would help a lot."

MC Shin Dong Yeop then asked, "Where have you gotten your knowledge about sex?" Onew replied calmly, "I mostly learned at school" but Taemin's face became red and laughed in embarrassment.

On another note, Onew and Taemin risked around $5000 to bet that the number of people in the audience who've talked about sex with their parents would be from 60 to 90. The actual number in the audience was 92, so they were eliminated.
