YG #alwayslyin about 2NE1: disbandment statements and discrepancies

On November 24th YGE announced 2NE1's disbandment stating that "2NE1’s exclusive contract expired in May 2016", Minzy left 2NE1 in May 2016 while CL and Dara re-signed and "that after last May, [...] there is no new contract with Park Bom".

Flashing back to May 2016 and taking a look at YGE's statements about 2NE1 and Minzy's departure though one can already notice some discrepancies: it was clearly stated that while Minzy did not feel the same when it came to continuing as a member of 2NE1, Yang Hyun Suk himself stated that he wants "to continue 2NE1 no matter what" and that "the other three members renewed contracts with the goal of releasing new music this summer, and there are no thoughts of adding a new member". The YGFamily site updated 2NE1's profile with the three remaining members and removed Minzy who was no longer a part of the group. Going by YGE's recent statement, all the above actions were taken while Bom also hadn't renewed her contract.

Since then all three remaining 2NE1 members have sometimes implicitly or explicitly hinted at the group continuing on/working towards a comeback/etc but these could easily be written off as the girls following the company line and covering the fact that Bom had not re-signed and the group had disbanded, so these instances are not included. One thing that could give some credence to the rumors of 2NE1 eventually making a comeback though is a new song that was registered with CL credited among the writers and 2NE1 credited as the song's performers. This too was done while Bom hadn't renewed her contract and the group was unofficially disbanded.

These discrepancies were enough to raise fans' suspicions on social media of whether Bom had truly left the group of her own accord in May or was asked to leave much later, of whether YGE (and consequently the 3 2NE1 members) deliberately lied to fans for months and for what reasons and many other questions that arose out of the fact that YGE chose to put out a statement that effectively cancels out their previous one.

If one thing is almost certain though it's that we may not hear from the members anytime soon, seeing as how Dara had to consult her manager before even passing that harmless note to fans.

At this point, I don't believe anything coming out of YG. If it's true that they never resigned Bom with a new contract, then the sightings of her coming and going from the building and everything else honestly leave a bad taste in my mouth, because it really does feel like intentional deception re: their fans, trying to keep them invested in the company until BlackPink could debut.

Explains why suddenly they were brought to the surface out of the basement.

I mean - even if Bom did not truly left in May, like there were still discussions about what to do going on (since I vaguely remember some talks about her going in and out of YG after May) all that cb crap was still imaginary bs etc.

Anyway - it's a shame that so big and impactfull group ends like thi.
Most of kpop companies, not only YG, when the time of contracts end is nearing, are keeping that "nothing is decided/it's all normal" stance untill the very last moment, trying to make people to stay when everybody knows that not gonna happen etc. then the d-day comes and they release some shit, short statement and everything ends just like that, next day is like "x? who's x? Idk them".
No proper goodbyes, no respect for the fans that would like to have some closure, often some smear htrown at past members as bonus etc.

if what YG is saying is true that all 3 girls renewed their contracts eariler this year and now with this disbandment, that's breach of contract on YG's part. unless there's something in the super fine print, which there probably is, that can be taken to court.

I'm mostly pressed bc the lying pos lizzard & co aren't doing any of the girls a favor, not the ones who left (or were kicked out lbr) and not the ones who are staying either. it's tragic how quickly CL and Dara had to go from "I'm in a band called 2NE1/we're working on coming back" to "I was in a band/please support our individual activities" at the last minute. like did they even know 2NE1 was dead when they re-signed?

i really haven't cared for any of CLs us solo stuff, but i still listen as a duty to 2ne1, but honestly after they kept stringing people along (even tho we all knew deep down 2ne1 was dead before minzy even left) until her tour was over so she wouldn't get any backlash. fuck that. def won't be supporting her in the future unless she has a song WORTHY of support.
