Park Bo Gum in Talks for Male Lead in Answer Me 1988

Rising young actor Park Bo Geum is in talks for the male lead of tvN drama Answer Me 1988, which coincidentally is scheduled to take over the same time slot after Oh My Ghost. Park Bo Geum’s likely casting as the male lead was followed a few hours later with the additional news that Han Groo has been offered the female lead role. Park Bo Geum isn’t the only new male name bandied about for the upcoming third installment of the AM series. Supporting actor Lee Yi Kyung, who I last saw in You’re All Surrounded as Lee Seung Gi’s maybe half-brother, has confirmed auditioning for the drama and remains in contention for a role in the main cast.

so many good things all happening at once. OP is thrilled. i wanted him or byun yo han or yoon kyun sang for the male lead when they announced am 1988. and han groo was the only one i really wanted as the female lead

reply 1988 production team has denied any casting news for han groo, said she didn't even audition. after what she pulled with scholar who talks the night and true romance bs i'm thinking her agency is really into either opening the champagne bottles really early or just flat out spreading false rumors for the sake of media play.

anyways nothing is determined for the drama and the production company keeps saying the audition results aren't out yet.

honestly what is with her agency/all the casting messes around her.

At least for Scholar who walks the night she actually was offered the lead (or MBC would have shot it down stat) but idk wtf her agency was doing with Chaebol Daughter and now this.

It's a shame cause she'd have made a fantastic lead for Reply - much as I love Eunji, I have to admit Han Groo is a better actress than both her and Go Ara.

actually the production company for scholar also released a statement that she was already taken out of consideration for lead roles long before the news was announced. idk her agency is just embarrassing her at this point

Welp I didn't see that. Three times in a row, jfc is her agency TRYING to give her a bad rep or sth? It's a shame because she is legit talented and deserves her shine.
