My cousin was there and said that she liked this concert better than SNSD's "Third Japan Tour". The girls tried harder and didn't look too bored on stage, even though some chores were still half-assed. Jessica's absence was present, especially during her parts. She said that some fans around her visibly cringed when Tiffany sang Jessica's lines.
All in all, it was a decent concert, my cousin told me.

Date: 2014-12-13 08:24 pm (UTC)But on a serious note, they really should only let Taeyeon or Seohyun (and maybe Sunny) take on Jessica's more difficult lines (namely the ad libs) because they can manage those lines and have Yoona or Sooyoung do the easier ones. Yoona really took me by surprise with the amount of lines she covered (cuz she did a lot for someone not in the vocal line imo) and the best part was that she sounded quite fine doing them, like in Divine. And the funniest thing is that she's supposed to be the weakest vocalist in SoShi but she sounded decent. You go Yoong! Sooyoung did well also doing Genie, Gee, Paparazzi and Mr.Taxi. I'm proud of both of my girls! SM really needs to give them more challenging lines in the future.

Date: 2014-12-13 09:13 pm (UTC)I love Yoona's voice! It has such a pretty quality to it. Hers and Sooyoung's I'd say. Yuri/Hyoyeon I'd say are the weakest in the group.

Date: 2014-12-13 09:42 pm (UTC)However, my fave voice in all of SoShi is Seohyun's (even though she gets the #3 bias spot for me ;D).I'd say Hyoyeon is the weakest, but I'm not really too sure because I don't particularly like the gravely tone of her voice ._. Yuri does pretty well when she sticks to her natural lower register and she does okay with higher notes as well. She has quite a bit of potential too.
Man, SM really needs to start utilizing the dance line some more because they are all pretty decent singers. We can't be giving all the good lines to the vocal line OTL

Date: 2014-12-14 03:42 am (UTC)Cringing/sighing internally/heavily rolling my eyes at Tiffany's taking over of Jessi's lines. Plz no. She really needs to work w/ a professional vocal trainer to fix the screeching she's been doing for awhile. It's obvious she's struggling w/ her own lines... Why SME doesn't distribute the rest of Jessi's lines to other members (Sunny, Yuri) instead of throwing almost all of those lines to Tiff, I'll never understand. /minirant

Date: 2014-12-14 09:17 am (UTC)Yuri and Hyoyeon have husky voices that don't fit in SNSD songs. When they're given something like 'I Am' they're able to shine more but they're also the members who I don't see growing in terms of range.

Date: 2014-12-14 06:49 pm (UTC)I was just disagreeing on Yoona/Sooyoung being better, since I don't think I've ever heard either Yoona or Sooyoung sound this decent; thus, I put forth my evidence. :-)

Date: 2014-12-18 06:15 pm (UTC)But I guess girl groups are fond of the high pitchy vocals, so she and Yuri may be better suited in a different kind of group.
