TS Entertainment’s New Girl Group SONAMOO Reveals First 3 Members

TS Entertainment will soon be debuting a new rookie girl group by the name of SONAMOO for the first time following Secret’s debut in 2009. The word ‘sonamoo’ is translated to pine tree, and the meaning behind the group name is the members’ desire to consistently make music that is full of life, like a pine tree.

The first three members of this upcoming girl group have been revealed through the group’s official Facebook page: Na Hyun, New Sun, and Eui Jin. The members’ names were introduced one by one, alongside a profile photo of each of them.

A representative of the agency explained, “There are still many hidden secret weapons (members). As much as our agency is providing full support for them, you can look forward to the emergence of an extraordinary rookie group.

Meanwhile, the group is expected to have a total of seven members, so be on the lookout for the remaining four members!

I'm always ok for new girl groups and it's a strategic timing for them anyway but how will they promote them next to Secret? Will they sound differently?

I'd be scared of TS, but I also realize they will have to work these girls to the bone to make them any kind of successful with the 50 comebacks of the same song with slightly different lyrics a la the style TS takes with all it's groups.

When I first heard Sonamoo, I was pretty irritated by the whole 'sounding like peppa pig's best friend' thing, but it's a lot prettier in korean, I suppose. I really hope that they have dynamic personalities and that TS manages to promote them well before they debut.

They're doing a slightly better job this year of looking after Secret and B.A.P together? All of the members (except poor Hana) are doing something out in the public and promoting things, so their name is being spread a little more? But yes, I hope that this works out well for everyone inside TS.
