If she thought of giving up her singing career as a whole due to SM's reluctance of giving her any project / come back then mannnn, it'd be such a waste of her talent whereas she could still sing but with a different company that is. Being in a stupid ass company who's not willing to promote you properly, doesn't mean that your talent isn't worthy, Liyin ah.
It must have been really suffocating to be in a long contract with a company that will not let you off the contract easily and at the same time not willing to give her proper promotions, and on top of that froze her for 4+ freaking years. How could she hone her craft when she was being frozen for almost 5 years, and not really having stages to perform?
If she's with a company that is willing to give her consistent promotion (they don't have to be extravagant about those, though. Consistent releases/projects/activities would suffice), she would gain that "slowly but surely" recognition from the public by now.
Ugh. my rant could be neverending.

She's had some offers in China for tv shows and stuff and some thing she's said yes to (like Voice China if I'm not mistaken) but it ended up a mess. With Voice China (correct me if I'm wrong but it was a Chinese voice show) she was going to be a contestant but the backers pulled out near the beginning of when filming was supposed to start. SME was on them and backing her up, and basically ripped them a new one. But that doesn't necessarily mean that they helped her out because this is the first thing she's done properly in 3 years, when the Voice China thing happened last year.
I feel like SME hasn't done anything right with their Chinese members until EXO came along, and even now they aren't doing a very good job of it. It's just a shame. Because a voice like that shouldn't go unheard.

Date: 2014-02-11 04:14 am (UTC)she was definitely "frozen" from 2007-2008 that entire year because of her poor live performance skills, but she has gotten noticeably better in the past few years. i just think that if you're gonna keep an artist with this much talent, she's gotta have a stage to practice her skills and her stage presence. it's just so mysterious to why they keep postponing her album time and time again.
