Flashback Friday

Every week I go through the charts for this day in the past and post the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we’re going back to the 4th week of June, 2014. All of these songs have been posted before, so this week we’ll see their comeback stages. I only have vague memories of this week, maybe you remember more.

#3 K.Will “Day 1”
Besides one OST song and one collab (with the group at #9 on the list), he released a 5 song EP called “One Fine Day” in 2014. Still very busy though, he did two tours this year. And this was the album’s lead single. Both the album and the song were a success, with the single peaking at #2. The song is cute and sweet, and it’s one of those confession songs. It’s a cute stage too, he looks like he had fun.

#2 AOA “Short Hair”
This was the lead single of their first mini album, and was the follow up to their big breakout hit “Miniskirt”. This is also my personal favorite AOA song. I still do those little leg lifts during that “oh oh oh ohhh” part lol. Those all look so pretty and cute too! The group would follow this up with “Like A Cat” in the fall. AOA really gave us so much in 2014 and I am still so grateful.

#1 San E & Raina “A Midsummer Night’s Sweetness”

Another confession song! Apparently everyone but me was confessing/being confessed to in the summer of ’14. Anyways, I was obsessed with this back then! It’s so cute! This did really well on the charts, got an all-kill on release, and stayed at the top spot for weeks. And ugh, how freaking adorable is Raina here?!? Anyone know how she is doing? I feel like I haven’t heard about her in a while.

Honorable Mentions

#7 Got7 “A”

“A” was the follow up single to their debut. It’s weird, I totally remember their debut and that whole era, but I always think that this song came first…although this came out a good 6 months later. On the charts, this song did better than any of their other 2014 releases. I don’t remember the live stages at all, and I don’t think I recognized any of them wtf.

#9 Mamamoo “Mr. Ambiguous”
The group had released a few collaborations prior to this, but “Mr. Ambiguous” was the group’s official debut song. The album would debut in the top 20. I only kind of remember the MV, and nothing else about the era. Here’s the group on their debut stage, just one day after the song was released. Omg remember when those mustache rings and mustaches in general was a trend?
