But perfect "technical" voices get boring to me after the initial wow factor wears off.
I feel this on a spiritual level lol. This isn't exclusive to Bangtan/K-pop, but I easily get bored of singers who have perfected techniques, because then everything sounds the same? And ia about vmin, especially Taehyung, I think he has insane potential, it's too bad BH keeps misusing his voice, even though he always aces the growl-y part of their songs (Fire, Baepsae, BIL definitely wouldn't be the same without his parts)
glad to see some people agree c: i don't think any of the albums they keep releasing are downgrades, imo what makes a good album is 1) good production 2) good lyrics 3) consistence/coherence 4) longevity/replay value.
D&W: had average to good production, average lyrics, yet is incredibly coherent. HYYH1&2: had good to very good production, slightly above to above average lyrics but lacked some coherence to me. YNWA: had good to excellent production, above average lyrics, and is also very coherent, which makes it not only a very good k-pop album, but also a very good pop album as a whole (and may appeal to the masses (me, i'm the mass) but then fans who were familiar with BTS' signature sounds may feel like it wasn't very BTS-like)
And I'm ranting lmao. I just feel for the boys because they keep working hard and evolving and doing what they love and trying to do things that they hope fans will love, but a lot of fans aren't all that receptive/appreciative to it unfortunately, even though BTS hasn't given us a bad songs in the last months, fans are just that hard to please.
